This is the home of Leadville Yarn & Fiber Co. We strive to carry high quality yarn from as many local or US companies as possible. We also offer private knit lessons and have a weekly knit group!

For the first time we are able to offer yarn made exclusively in Colorado! The merino wool is raised at Cactus Hill Farm down valley from Leadville, then spun at The Fleece Factory, a small mill outside of Denver. Then the yarn is dyed by Leadville’s The Dye Smith, our local hand dyer that uses all natural plant dyes. The result is this beautiful, squishy merino yarn in these gorgeous soft hues.

For spinners, felters and other fiber artists, we carry hand dyed roving and raw alpaca and wool. We also carry a full line of Addi Turbo circular needles and Clover bamboo straight needles and double points.

Knitting Services, Events & More

  • Come join us for Free Knit Night every Wednesday from 6-8 PM! Bring your project, hang out, and enjoy the company of fellow knitters while sharing knowledge, laughs, and creative energy.

  • Private lessons are always available during normal business hours (please call ahead to schedule), as well as after hours for groups (minimum of 4).  Cost is $15/hour for adults, and $10/hour for kids.  Help is always available for free if 15 minutes or under, no need to call ahead. Please call for more details.

  • Free knitting help is on hand! Our Knit Doctor, Elise Sunday, is on hand to help with your knitting snafus!  The Knit Doctor is here to help you fix knitting mistakes, get through part of a pattern you don't understand, or learn a new skill in knitting or crochet. Private classes are also available with the Knit Doctor for only $25/hr, to work on whatever project you would like.   Free help is limited to 15 min.
